FAQ
What should I bring with me to class?
Please bring your yoga mat, a towel, an open mind and a positive attitude! If you do not yet have a yoga mat, we can provide a few folks to use but mats are limited on a first come first serve basis.
How long are the classes? Classes last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before scheduled start time.
What should I wear?
Lightweight, breathable, and comfortable clothing is recommended. Men are generally most comfortable in sweatpants, shorts, swim shorts and T-Shirts. Women usually wear sports bras, tank tops, shorts, leggings, leotards or t-shirts. When deciding on how to dress remember you want to be comfortable.
I am both older and not very flexible. Is yoga for me?
ABSOLUTELY! Yoga is for people of all ages and for people with all ranges of movement. Kemetic Yoga specifically works through a geometric progression which means that instead of focusing on flexibility/force we use our sustainment and deep breathing to transition from each posture. This makes the group accessible to people of all ages, body shapes and multi-movement abilities. If there are any special needs or safety concerns, feel free to let the instructor know before the group and she will accommodate the best she can.
How do I determined what to pay on the sliding scale?
Pay what you are able to offer. We don't believe in turning anyone away so we offer the class at a sliding scale for participants to choose what feels the most supportive with their current budget. As a community we support the group when we provide financial support that others may not have and as a collective we can share safe spaces without the stressors of financial barriers.
