Dance Movement Therapy

Movement Therapy is the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual, for the purpose of improving health and well-being.

Because 90% of the way we communicate is nonverbal. Emotions, thoughts, and memories are all reflected in the body through our everyday facial expressions, body language, gestures, and movements.

When we understand how are mind-body are connected and how it influences the way we move in everyday life, we begin to understand how our bodies respond to triggers. We begin to learn progressive ways to physically and mentally respond to traumatic experiences and we are able to utilize positive coping skills when dealing with stressful life situations.
